Both cameras have been attached to the tripod by way of a perpendicular mount. The 3D effect is achieved by having the two cameras record with a slight offset of one image overlayed with another image. But before you can put those two images together on a computer in post production, both cameras have to be set up with lenses adjustable for focus and exposure, as well as two separate controls for IA and Convergence (the distance apart and control for the top camera pan, respectively). The result: about 3x the set up time. I'll find out how much more time it takes to actually shoot the camera next week when we start production and post back.

Personally I was overwhelmed by the excitement and amount of volunteers, extras, location staff and equipment donated to the project. Our friend Barry, who himself is in a wheelchair, also commented that the movie making process is more elaborate than he could have guessed, which was especially evident when the whole crew came into Barry's house to shoot an interior scene and Barry saw how many people we had to fit into his bedroom behind the camera (7).

For my part I would like to comment on the transcendent vibe that was felt from those who dedicated part of their christmas break to the goal of making this movie for our friend Barry. This includes Brett, Mike, Dave, Candace, Jared, Levi, Shea, Mike, Rose, Joel, Jack, Judy, Rachel, Alex, Jess as well as the actors, Tom, Charles, and Larry. Our hearts go out to all of you guys for this one. We also have to comment on behalf of the location successes and cooperation from Lisa and Ian at the University location and Mr B. at the High School. We are all so grateful to you for your encouragement and happy you allowed us to bring over 30+ people into your facilities. Also a big thank you to everyone else who contributed, the background people and suppliers of equipment and props really made a difference for us in executing a high caliber shoot. Now the responsibility of post-production is upon us to finish the job and turn this amazing raw footage into a great film that is both touching and hilarious. Thanks again for all your support!
