One of the benefits of attending film school

Here a few students and myself assemble a 3D filming rig in the new studio at Cap U in Vancouver. Both cameras have been attached to the tripod by way of a perpendicular mount. The 3D effect is achieved by having the two cameras record with a slight offset of one image overlayed with another image. But before you can put those two images together on a computer in post production, both cameras have to be set up with lenses adjustable for focus and exposure, as well as two separate controls for IA and Convergence (the distance apart and control for the top camera pan, respectively). The result: about 3x the set up time. I'll find out how much more time it takes to actually shoot the camera next week when we start production and post back.
